The Select Columns dialog allows you to select the column(s) and sorting order before defining the key.

NOTE: For multi-column indexes, you can add up to 8 columns, but for PK, FK, or UK definitions, you can only select one column.


ð Column Name

Single click the column in the list titled Column Name, and determine the sorting order for indexing by selecting either the Ascending or Descending option. Finally, click the ADD button.  
 
NOTE: If you double-click the column in the Column Name list, it will be added to the selections automatically with the default sorting order of Ascending.

If you are creating a multi-column Index, you can reorder the columns by selecting the column you wish to move and use the Move Up and Move Down botton accordingly.  
 
You can also remove a selected column from the list by highlighting it and pressing the Remove button.  
 

When you are finished, press the OK button to continue to the New Key/Index dialog.
